3 ways to reduce waist to hip ratio in perimenopause

In episode 115 I talked in depth about several benefits of castor oil. I shared my personal testimony about how it helped with bloating and digestion, and I shared the many benefits many others have noticed since using it. 

 

Today I wanted to go into a few more I’ve discovered from personal experience, or research, or both, because I’m a bit gobsmacked! 

 

I’ll also cover a little about HOW it works in case, like me, you want to understand exactly what’s going on here and why it seems to just know where in the body to go for help.

Castor Oil type matters

I want to emphasize strongly that organic castor oil is incredibly important here. You need to trust its sourcing and even delivery method. Is it in an amber bottle? Has it been tainted or has anything been added? The kind on the shelf in your local grocery store is not what you want to be using. 

 

Using an organic cloth (what is referred to as a “pack”) is also important since you don’t want to draw any synthetic dyes or chemicals into your body. This is easy DIY with organic flannel, but it can be messy.

A little history

Castor oil dates back as far as 4000 BC and has been found in ancient Egyptian tombs. Evidence of its cultivation was discovered in 500 BC in central Egypt where it was used as lamp oil, in cosmetics, and as medicine.

So what’s in castor oil that makes it work?

Castor oil is a tasteless and odorless vegetable oil that is extracted by pressing the seeds of the castor plant producing ricinoleic acid. 

 

Castor oil is rich in fatty acids and contains other compounds such as triglycerides and antioxidants, which may have complementary or synergistic effects. These compounds help enhance the overall efficacy of castor oil 

Bone spurs/calcium deposits

The one I’m most excited about is it’s potential to help with bone spurs and calcium deposits. I have calcific achilles tendonitis, a painful condition formed from years of dance and repetitive motion.

 

When I was researching castor oil awhile back, I saw this mentioned and thought I would try some on my heels. It’s too soon to report back any improvement so far, but I’m hopeful! 

 

In researching why, this could even be a possibility, this what I found: 

 

Castor oil has been suggested as a natural remedy for various musculoskeletal conditions, including bone spurs or calcium deposits, although scientific evidence supporting its effectiveness specifically for this purpose is limited. However, some proponents believe that the anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties of castor oil may help alleviate symptoms associated with these conditions. 

Shorter cycles –

I’ve now seen this through my last 2 cycles which are usually 5-7 days, but have been 3-4 days for the past 2 months…what?! That came in handy for 2 different trips, as well!

 

Castor oil can improve blood flow in the area, which will helps you shed that lining easier.

Help for dark circles, lash and brow growth.

By dabbing a bit on your lashes and brows and around the delicate tissue of the eyes, you may find help for wrinkles, dark circles and growth in both lashes and brows. 

Queen of Thrones also sells an eye cloth that you put on after applying (best to sleep in it).

 

I’ve personally found that the swollen area under my right eye that I have from sleeping on my right side for years, has reduced significantly by wearing the eye mask over the castor oil at night. 

 

Use caution around your eyes and try to avoid getting into the eyes. Even though I have and have had no issues, some report issues when it’s gotten too close. A little goes a long way!
